Sharing Links to Documents
Who is this article for?EQMS Document content managers.
Document module access is needed.
Documents that are stored in the system can also be shared with other users via their hyperlink.
The process for sharing the link varies depending on how you have configured your system.

1. How to Bypass the Login
- Open the System Manager.
- Select the Tools tab and then click on Module Parameters.
- Check Allow Login To Be Bypassed.
2. How to Send the Link with Bypassed Login
- Open the Documents Manager.
- Select the Documents tab and then open the document.
- Copy the System URL.
- Share the link via your chosen method.
Important Note: This link will only provide access to the document if Allow Login To Be Bypassed has been enabled. Please see section 1 How to Bypass the Login for more details.
Additionally, if the document access has been restricted then the user will need to enter credentials to prove they have the appropriate access.
3. How to Send the Link without Bypassed Login
If login has not been bypassed then the process to construct a sharing link is a little more complex. To share the link:
- Open the Document Manager.
- Select the Reports tab.
- Locate report 202: Documents for each Owner in CID sequence.
- Launch the report and use the parameters to find your report.
- Find your document and note the CID of the record.
- Enter the CID and your server path into the appropriate URL for how you access the system:

Reminder: If the end user does not have access to your EQMS system (e.g. you host the system and give an external person the URL) then they will not be able to access the document.
