Creating and Managing Journal Entries
Who is this article for?Users who want to add information about an Issue.
Issue User (ISSUSR) permissions are required.
Once an Issue has been raised, you will see that several other options appear in the header bar, including Journals.
1. Accessing Journals
To access Journal Entries:
- Navigate to Issue Manager.
- Select Issue Manager.
- Open the Issue the entry relates to.
- Switch to the "Journals List" tab.
This screen is paginated and records can be viewed by clicking the page numbers to the bottom left of the list screen.
2. Creating Journal Entries
Standard Journal Entry
To create a standard Entry:
- Click the New Journal Entry icon to the right of the header bar.
- Enter a Journal Comment.
- Choose who the Issue should Pass to from the dropdown (if relevant).
- Select the new Issue Status (if relevant).
- Click Save.
Complete the Comments field and select the Save icon to the right of the Add Journal Entry header bar. The Journals list screen will be updated with your entry.
Once a Journal Entry is saved, it cannot be modified.
Journal Entry with Document
To create an Entry with a Document:
- Click the New Journal Entry icon to the right of the header bar.
- Enter a Journal Comment.
- Choose who the Issue should Pass to from the dropdown (if relevant).
- Select the new Issue Status (if relevant).
- Tick Attach Document.
Use the file explorer to locate the Document. - Give your Document a Title.
- Click Save.
Complete the Comments field and select the Save icon to the right of the Add Journal Entry header bar. The Journals list screen will be updated with your entry.
Journal Entry with URL
To create an Entry with a Document link:
- Click the New Journal Entry icon to the right of the header bar.
- Enter a Journal Comment.
- Choose who the Issue should Pass to from the dropdown (if relevant).
- Select the new Issue Status (if relevant).
- Tick Attach Document.
- Select the Supply URL radio button.
- Paste in your Document URL.
- Give your Document a Title.
- Click Save.
Complete the Comments field and select the Save icon to the right of the Add Journal Entry header bar. The Journals list screen will be updated with your entry.
Once a Journal Entry is saved, it cannot be modified.
