Creating and Managing Location Types
Who is this article for?Users who are responsible for Location Type management.
Inspection Administrator(INSADM) permissions are required.
Each of the Locations logged in Inspection Manager is categorised into a specific Location Type. Within the details of a Location type you can associate any additional metadata fields that may be required. When you create individual Locations, you will need to select which Type of Location it is, so before you can do that, you must first create your Location Types.
1. Accessing Location Types
To access Location Types:
- Navigate to Inspection Manager.
- Select Housekeeping.
- Choose Location Types.
If the search fields are not displayed, click the Expand icon below the header bar to expand the filters.
Additionally, each column header can be selected to arrange the results in ascending or descending order.
2. Creating Location Types
To create a new Type:
- Click the Add New icon in the header bar.
This should reveal a blank Location Types Details screen.
- Enter a Title.
- Tick Has Address if Locations of this type require an address.
- If the Owner is different from yourself, select the relevant Owner(s).
The radio buttons below allow you to choose between a single user or a Group. - Click Save.
3. Amending Location Types
To edit an existing Type:
- Select the required Location Type from the list.
This will reveal the Location Type details screen.
- Amend details as required.
- Click Save to confirm your changes.
Any changes that you may will be reflected in all Locations of this type.
For example, if you decide that Locations of this type have an address, the Address fields will now appear in all individual Locations of this type.
