Creating and Managing Service Types
Who is this article for?Users who are responsible for Service Type management.
Equipment Administrator(EQADM) permissions are required.
Equipment Manager can be used to schedule and control any type of Service or Maintenance checks that may be required for any given asset. From PAT Tests for your Electricals to MOTs for your Vehicles, each can be created and associated with the relevant assets. This article will show you how to do that.
1. Accessing Service Types
To access Service Types:
- Navigate to Equipment Manager.
- Select Administration.
- Switch to the "Service Types" tab.
If the search fields are not displayed, click the Expand icon below the header bar to expand the filters.
2. Creating Service Types
To create a new Service Type:
- Click the Add New icon in the top right of the header bar.
This will reveal a blank Service Type details screen.
- Fill in the mandatory details:
- Title – Name for the Service Type.
- Code – Reference code for the Service Type.
- Tick the Active checkbox.
This decides whether the Service Type will be available for selection in the rest of the module. - Select the Owner or Owner Group (if different from yourself).
- Click Save to confirm.
You can return to the Service Types list by clicking the Return icon. You will lose any unsaved actions.
3. Amending Service Types
To amend an existing Service Type:
- Select the Service Type from the list.
This will reveal the Service Type details screen.
- Amend details as required.
- Click Save to confirm your changes.
