Creating and Managing Action Types
Who is this article for?Users responsible for managing Actions that can be raised for inspections.
Inspection Administrator(INSADM) permissions are required.
Depending on the results of an Inspection, you may need to raise actions to address findings. Action Types allow you to define templates for your actions. Any created action types will be available for selection when inspectors raise actions against an inspection.
1. Accessing Action Types
To access Action Types:
- Navigate to Inspection Manager.
- Select Housekeeping.
- Choose Action Types.
2. Creating Action Types
To create a new Type:
- Click the New icon located to the right of the Action Types header bar.
The blank Action Type Details screen will be displayed similar to below.
- Enter a Code.
This is a reference used to identify and organise the Action Type. - Give it a Title.
- Include an optional Description.
- Define the Target Period.
This is a period of days that Actions of this type should take to complete. - Configure the remaining settings:
- Comment on Closure - Actionee must provide comments before completing an Action.
- Completion Date - Allows the Actionee to provide their own completion date.
- Redirect Action - Allows the Actionee to send the action to another user.
- Use URL - Allows you to include a link in the Action details in a separate field.
- Tick the Active box to make the Type selectable.
3. Amending Action Types
To edit an existing Type:
- Select anywhere in the record row of the target Action Type from the Action Type list screen.
The Action Type Details screen will be displayed.
- Amend any required fields.
- Click the Save icon to confirm the changes.
Any changes that you may will effect any future Actions of this type. Any Actions currently in progress will not be affected.
