Associating Checks and Calibrations with Equipment Models
Who is this article for?Users who are responsible for Equipment Checks and Calibrations.
Equipment Administrator(EQADM) permissions are required.
Against each Equipment Model you can define the required Service Checks or Calibration. This ensures that the required checks and inspections are set in place for all equipment/assets of this model. This article will walk you through how to associate each related item.

1. Associating Service Checks
To associate a Service Check:
- Open the required Equipment Model.
- Switch to the "Service Checks" tab.
- Click the Search icon to reveal an overlay window.
If the Service Type you need doesn't exist yet, click the Add New icon instead. Tils will allow you to create a new Service Type in an overlay window.
- Select the Service Type you would like to associate with the Equipment Model.
- Provide an optional Description for the Service Check.
- If the Owner is different from yourself, select the relevant Owner(s) via the dropdown box.
The radio buttons below allow you to choose between a single user or a group. - Click the Save icon to confirm the association.
The screen will refresh, and you should now see additional fields to fill out.
2. Associating Calibrations
To associate a Calibration Check:
- Open the required Equipment Model.
- Switch to the "Calibrations" tab.
- Click the Search icon to reveal an overlay window.
If the Calibration Type you need doesn't exist yet, click the Add New icon instead. Tils will allow you to create a new Calibration Type in an overlay window.
- Select the Calibration Type you would like to associate with the Equipment Model.
- Provide an optional Description for the Calibration.
- If the Owner is different from yourself, select the relevant Owner(s) via the dropdown box.
The radio buttons below allow you to choose between a single user or a group. - Click the Save icon to confirm the association.
The screen will refresh, and you should now see additional fields to fill out.
3. Adding Details to Checks and Calibrations
Frequency Repeat
If the Check/Calibration is required on a repeat basis, tick the Frequency Repeat checkbox, then fill in the required fields.
- Frequency - Amount of time between each Check/Calibration.
- Frequency Unit - Units for the Frequency entered above (Days, Weeks, Months).
- Frequency Enforced - Make the frequency mandatory for all Assets of this model.
Inspection Types
Add the relevant Inspector Types:
- Click the Search icon next to the Inspector Types box.
This will reveal an overlay window.
- Tick the box(es) for the required Inspector Types for this Check/Calibration.
- Click the Link icon to associate the Inspector Types.
Standards
Add the relevant Standards:
- Switch to the "Standards" tab.
- Click the Search icon next to the Associated Entities box.
This will reveal an overlay window.
- Tick the box(es) for the required Standards for this Check/Calibration.
- Click the Link icon to associate the Standard(s).
Documents
Add the relevant Documents:
- Switch to the "Documents" tab.
This will reveal the Associated Documents area.
- Click the icon for the document type you want to associate:
- Attach to attach an EQMS Document (Point in Time).
- Link to create a live link to an EQMS Document.
- Add New to attach a local/network Document.
Availability and Ownership
To make sure the Check/Calibration can be used:
- Tick the Active checkbox.
This decides whether the Check/Calibration will be available for selection in the rest of the module. - If the Owner is different from yourself, select the relevant Owner(s) via the dropdown box.
The radio buttons below allow you to choose between a single user or a group. - Click the Save icon to confirm the details.
4. Associating Equipment Items
Switch to the "Equipment Items" tab to reveal the Associated Equipment Items list.
The list will be populated with a list of all Items of this Equipment Model. The associations are created when adding a New Item to the system.
Selecting an Item from the list will reveal details for it.
